Farm Stay U.S.

City folks have a hankering to reconnect with their roots-or, if they're multiple generations removed from the farm, to form new roots.

Agritourism-and "farmstays" in particular-are a way farmers can literally cash in on this interest, while sharing their love of land and livestock with others. In simplest terms, a farmstay is lodging for paying guests on a working farm. Beyond that, farmstays are as unique as farm operations. A farm family might convert a room in their farmhouse to accommodate overnight guests, "repurpose" an outbuilding into a sleeping cabin, or build new accommodations specifically for farm guests.

The article mentions Farm Stay U.S., and the new farmstay manual put out by The Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture.
