Chicago Tribune: Down on the farm, with a side of good food

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Cindy Dampier of the Tribune Papers takes her family on a farm vacation to Kinnikinnick Farm outside of Chicago.  They eat fresh food, feed the chickens, milk the goats, and in the interim learn to adopt the slower pace of farm life.

Hosts Susan and David are organic farmers that moved to their place in the 1980s and have been rehabbing their property ever since. Kinnickinnick is part of the Featherdown Farm Days franchise, with two other farms in New York State.
