The Bar SZ Ranch is a genuine working family ranch. A few days here will immerse you in a lifestyle that we love to share with others. Enjoy horseback riding, roping, hayrides, skeet and trap shooting, archery, seasonal creek walking, and hiking. And when the sun goes down, relax as a rancher would with a BBQ, bonfire, and epic star gazing.
We want everyone's experience to be unique and suited to their personal desires. Daily chores include caring for all the ranch animals, moving cattle, collecting eggs...just to name a few. Guests can also enjoy guided horse back or trail rides. We really enjoy sharing all that this magnificent ranch has to offer.
Our ranch house is extremely unique as it is located on a very historical property in the heart of San Benito County. The ranch is known around the world as the Legendary Doc Bar Ranch, which was the home to the world famous cow horse Doc Bar. The house, once the art studio of world famous painter Thomas Kinkade, sits upon a beautiful and quiet hill that overlooks the valleys and mountains of the ranch. Picture windows allow for breathtaking views across the entire house. It is a truly amazing place to get away, relax, and rejuvenate.
We are located in a very rural area. That is what makes it such a special retreat home. It is extremely quiet and wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by all the beauty that San Benito County has to offer. There is no public transit due to our remote location. Guests are welcome to take walks around the ranch and enjoy the many mountain hikes and beautiful vistas! We also have an array of outdoor games for guests to enjoy, including horseshoes, volleyball, and croquet
The grounds are home to thousands of native birds and animals. We are just 10 minutes from the Pinnacles National Park which offers world-class hikes, rock climbing, and outdoor educational classes. The ranch is located 40 minutes from a town with shopping and restaurants.
