Summary
The Blue Heron Farm Bed and Breakfast, is located on an organic farm, nestled in the hills, 7 miles east of the Oceanside Pier, in a lovely, little-known agricultural area, in Fallbrook, California.
Coastal breezes keep the farm cool in the summer and relatively warm in the winter. The 650-foot elevation puts it out of the coastal fog zone. The result of the unusual climate zone is that a wide variety of fruits and vegetables can be grown. The farm's main product is baby lettuce which is produced all year. In addition, a bounty of fruits are grown, including many kinds of citrus, pomegranates, figs, apples, cherimoyas, macadamia nuts, sapotes, jujubes, pears, mangoes, bananas, avocadoes, and several varieties of guavas. Bees keep everything pollinated and honey on the table.
Our Hacienda style B and B has decks, patios and a tree-shaded lawn for relaxation, as well as walks through the farm and along riparian areas. Deer and coyotes are frequent visitors, and bobcats occasionally drop by. Breakfasts include whatever is in season. Salads are always available!
The beautiful gardens and natural settings are perfect for small, intimate weddings or retreats. Perhaps the major attraction is the peacefulness and beauty of the farm itself. It adjoins Camp Pendleton, which is the last large expanse of chaparral and coastal habitat in Southern California.
