Summary
Focus Ranch is a working cattle ranch homesteaded and family owned since 1896. In 1938, the ranch opened its doors to guests and began long term memberships in dude ranch associations and other guest ranch affiliations, providing high end standards. The ranch is situated at the top of the Little Snake River Valley and borders Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming, which provides over 10,000 acres for cross country riding.
We run yearling cattle and allow guests to work the cattle . We do not hire professional cowboys but rely on guests to ride and help us move 1300 head of cattle over 25 times during the season. We hire wranglers to assist the guests. Ideal vacation for families, adults, groups and active riders. Located in a remote part of Colorado, wildlife is abundant with varying terrain and vegetation: meadow, mesa grasslands, sage brush, aspen forests, green timber and surrounding mountains with peaks from 9000 feet upward. Airport access: Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
The addition of yoga, painting and photography workshops, fly fishing clinic and birding have made a week at the Ranch even better. These activities are offered periodically throughout the season and some are available on demand. Flexibility in daily routines allows guests to participate in both the traditional ranch activities and any featured weekly offering.
