We are a six room bed and breakfast lodge just outside of Salida, CO. Our dairy goats provide us with fresh milk for both drinking and for the production of homemade cheese and yogurt. Our free ranging hens provide us with delicious healthy eggs each morning.
We breed the wonderful Oberhasli dairy goat originally from Switzerland, and are happy to show you why they are our favorite breed. Pilar, our resident llama, guards our herd of goats and is very proud and serious about her job! We grow much of our produce year ‘round in our geodesic dome greenhouse. Guests are free to explore our 20 acres and commune with the animals.
Guests are provided with a hearty country breakfast sourced from ingredients on our farm, or within 25 miles. We are very self-sufficient and enjoy the chance to educate people about goats, chickens and greenhouse production.
Even though we are a farm, we do not skimp on creature comforts. A commercial hot tub is always available and is most enjoyable on dark and starry nights. A professional espresso machine is on hand to provide our guests with an assortment of delightful coffee drinks. Bed linens made by “Comphy” are luxurious and soft, flat screen televisions with premium channels such as HBO & Showtime, Lavender toiletries, Culligan softened water, free snacks are amongst the amenities found in each room. A mini fridge, a full bathroom, balcony and tremendous mountain views complete each guestroom.
Our greatroom has a two story fireplace and grand piano available for our guests. A library has books, movies to borrow, a selection of board games, and a beautiful chess set. We expect our guests to have a relaxed time and respect our animals and property. Most guests interact with other guests, but this is not imperative. We allow pets for an extra charge, and allow smoking (all types) outside the building.
In the summer months, we rent out four retro-styled trailers that sleep three people, each trailer comes with their own bathroom and kitchenette. They are very private and in the woods, are less expensive than the lodge rooms and do not include the lodge breakfast. You may participate as much or as little as you wish in farm chores, animal care, and we also provide classes for an additional charge. During summer, Saturday night bonfires (weather permitting) include “smores” and lots of interesting conversation. Come join us!
