Summary
Granite Creek Guest Ranch is a real working cattle ranch on 4000 beautiful acres in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho. With plenty of room to roam, families, couples and singles enjoy the relaxed pace, natural beauty, and genuine western experience that can be found at our ranch.
Granite Creek Ranch has been part of the Zitlau family since the early 1900's when Carl's grandfather homesteaded 80 acres. Gradually he acquired nearby homesteads and ranches. Now the fourth generation of Zitlaus enjoy some of the most beautiful and scenic mountain land in the West. Interestingly, we learned recently that Carl's grandfather actually operated a guest ranch here for a short time in the early 1900's!
The Zitlaus started the guest ranch in 1992, and have been going strong ever since. We really enjoy having people come to our place and sharing our heritage and traditions with them. We love to see how much people enjoy riding and chasing cows, having a different experience from anything they've ever done before. Moose, deer, coyotes, elk, eagles, sandhill cranes, many smaller birds, hummingbirds, bears, mountain lions and now wolves visit the ranch, too.
