The 45 lovely acres of Galena Log Cabin Getaway and the Adventure Creek Alpaca + Goldendoodle Farm are owned and operated by Ruth and Frank Netzel. When the stars come out, you can see them all from horizon to horizon - no light pollution 4 miles south of Galena. Ruth and Frank are the local experts in relaxing. They will be glad to respond to any questions you might have about the property.
They will welcome you and will show you to your authentic hand-made log cabin (then stay out of your way). Our 10 one-room, 650+ sq ft log cabins with open loft (2nd bedroom) and modern separate bath with 6-ft double-whirlpool tub. All cabins are hand¬chinked hewn logs of cedar and red pine. All-pine floors and ceilings and exposed loft beams. All major parts are constructed without nails.
The Netzels will also show you their alpacas: quiet, stately, regal animals that are friendly to people - especially to smaller children. Our resident alpacas' job is to welcome and entertain our guests. Their curious nature makes them very interested in children of all ages. Quincy, Ben, Lewis, Clark, Washington, Abe, Sherman, Lincoln, Franklin and Ulysses enjoy being hand-fed by our guests.
