Mirror Lake Farm

Rate: $10 - $80
Units: 3     Capacity: 19

Summary

We live on a 150 acre farm in northeastern Indiana and we are surrounded by Amish farmers. Jed and his brother recently sold their dairy herd. So we are no longer dairy farmer, only livestock and crop farmers. They own and operate Hog Back Hill Farms.

We host a bed and breakfast on the property. We are not on the main street, nor are we just off the town square. You’ll take the roads less traveled. Past farmers green fields and Amish homes to your very own private (sleeps 7) 500 sq. ft. rustic lake cottage, we call the "Bunkhouse".

Take a "Gator" ride back to either woods to walk on mowed trails. Walk to the barns to see the steers and heifers. Maybe spend some time in the horse barn as well. Or stroll over to the pasture and watch the horses. Bonnie, Bailey, Fame & Susie, they might come up to you and you can pet them. Maybe you'll see some deer, Sand Hill Cranes or a Blue Heron. Come in for breakfast or visit the gift shop in our 180 year old Greek revival farm home. Travel around the countryside and watch as Amish farmers tend their crops and livestock.

Visit the family cemetery that is on the farm it dates back to 1832-1895. Watch all the birds and look at all the stars in the sky. Wake up to colorful sunrises and relax with even more beautiful sunsets. If primitive camping is your thing we have 2 primitive cabins (sleeps 4) set deep in the woods. Cabin #1 is by the Little Elkhart river and cabin #2 is lake side. Camp fire going, the sounds of nature, safe, peaceful and relaxing does not get any better than this WELCOME TO THE COUNTRY!!
