Summary
Enjoy the hospitality of the Farm House B and B. You will be staying on a real working farm with dairy cattle, goats, chickens, peacocks, llamas, Jacob sheep, cats and a dog named HJ. Walking, running or biking on the 4 mile nature trail, feeding baby calves, gathering chicken eggs, fishing in the farm pond, viewing the newly planted vineyard and shopping in the wine and antique shop in a remodeled machine shed are all part of the Farm House experience. You’ll be treated to a farmer’s breakfast with plenty to eat. Homemade goodies are available for snacking as well as complimentary drinks. During your stay tour the farm, help with the farm chores, hike the adjoining nature trail, fish in the farm pond, relax around the fire in the evening, shop in the adjoining wine and antique shop, or just relax and “do your own thing.”
We started by planting one acre of grapes – 200 red raspberry bushes, 100 blueberry bushes, and many fruit trees with the expectation we would one day have a winery for the production of our own wines. We've continued planting since. The grapes are planted along the Plum Creek Bike and Nature Trail that goes through our farm. From the ridge on the trail you can look down on Plum Creek as it lazily winds through our pasture and you can see about 300 head of Holstein cattle in our lots and pastures. The trail also goes between our vineyard and farm pond where guests can fish and picnic. Visitors love to walk or bike the 4 miles trail that is connected to the Farm House B and B.
Our family’s dream to create a winery is coming true. We harvested our first grapes in September 2006. We have started to make several wines from our grapes, raspberries and rhubarb. We now have 3 white wines, 5 red wines and a blush wine for sale.
