Summary
The Midcoast Maine Organic Farm at the Squire Tarbox Inn, which is an historical country inn, was started in 2003 by our son, Kyle. His dream to grow organic vegetables in a way that was sustainable and worked with mother nature instead of against her has come to fruition.
The Farm is certified organic through MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Assoc.) so there is peace of mind knowing that everything is organic and local. Kyle, along with his wife Angie, also forage for wild edibles such as gourmet mushrooms. The Farm has expanded over the years with a greenhouse, as well as another 5 acres nearby, making our growing season substantially longer. Great pride is taken in selecting seeds for the growing season. There are old favorites as well as new varieties. Kyle is always on the hunt for veggies that look great, taste delicious, and perform well in the Maine coastal climate.
In 2008 we started our own vegetable stand and shop on premises.Select your fresh produce from us when you come to tour the farm, visit the goats & chickens and join us for dinner.
