Summary
Our farmland includes 27 acres of rolling fields and lightly wooded areas, nestled on the east side of Clarry Hill, and looking east over the St. George River Valley. The farm is bordered by stone walls and the shores of Seven Tree Pond. White ash, sugar maple, oak, birch, wild cherry and apple trees frame the fields, which abound with wildflowers during the spring and summer prior to mowing season. The fields, abandoned as farmland a decade ago, are now once again beautiful, being restored to fertile and productive purposes. Our land includes 1/4 mile of private frontage on Seven Tree Pond, which is a natural part of the St George River, flowing toward salt water in Thomaston Harbor about 10 miles downstream.
David and Bess Robbins built a cabin in the cove on the shore of Seven Tree Pond in 1776. They built the farmhouse in 1786. The farmhouse was re-modeled in 1890, and again by the current owners, beginning in 2003 and finishing in 2006. Our 220 year old farmhouse meets the newest safety codes, including fire detection and alarm system, a fire sprinkler system, and handicap accessibility. The large living room, with gas fireplace, the large dining room, and several outside decks can accommodate both intimate small groups and large gatherings.
Our animal friends on the farm include a small herd of goats, a flock of hens and one rooster, and lots of wildlife. Entertainment and special accommodations like tents, RV hookups, rental kayaks and SeaBikes, projectors, etc. can be arranged also. We would be happy to discuss your special needs. Please let us know what you would like.
