Summary

Cottonwood Meadow Ranch is a secluded 70-acre ranch located in Northern New Mexico on the Rio Costilla River. Our ranch is home to a variety of animals, including goats, sheep, horses, and pigs, as well as chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits, and a parrot. We are glad to give tours and allow you to visit our crew on a daily basis. You are free to help us milk the goats and feed the animals. We are a working ranch that makes goat cheese and offers farm-fresh eggs. Cheese and soap making classes may be arranged. Seasonal gardens are available for you to visit and harvest for personal use in meal preparation.

Nestled between mountains in the Sangre de Cristo range, you'll see a picturesque view of cottonwoods, wildlife, and farm animals. We offer great lodging in our cabins and a great break for those seeking a break.  There is fly fishing right on the ranch and artists find our property pretty enough to paint!

Our ranch lies on the Rio Costilla River, which offers excellent fly fishing. Fly Fishing in northern New Mexico was born in November 1988.You may also find a unique fly fishing experience locally, at the Valle Vidal, Latir Creek, Commanche Creek, Ponil and Shuree Ponds.

Artists are drawn to this beautiful community which consists of some of the most talented people in the Rio Costilla Valley. The pictures you see hanging on the walls are generally pieces painted by local artists. Please let us know if you are interested in visiting local talent and galleries, and we will contact them for appointments. The Rio Costilla Studio Tour occurs every September on the second weekend of the month and includes more than 30 artists from the area. There are local artists that may offer art classes while you are visiting our area.
