Summary

Welcome to Gentle Giants Bed and Breakfast in Geneva, New York, located on the edge of one of the larger vegetable crop farms in Ontario County. Our lovely Italianate Victorian house was built in 1856 by Sidney Whitney and has recently been restored. The large barn behind the house is home to our "Gentle Giants", registered Belgian horses. Mr. Boston and his ladies are always happy to visit with our guests as are Dover and NoSé, our two Australian Cattle dogs.

You may enjoy breakfast served in the dining room or, in good weather, on the large sunny deck. Our chickens will supply fresh eggs and possibly a "cock-a-doodle-doo" wake up call. In season, breakfast may include farm fresh fruits and vegetables such as asparagus, onions, peppers, and pumpkins and apples, apricots, raspberries, and strawberries.

While enjoying life in the country you will be less than ten minutes from Geneva, Hobart/William Smith Colleges, The New York State Agriculture Experiment Station, Geneva General Hospital, and the north shore of Seneca Lake. Geneva has a number of historic houses, churches, and a lovely historic district.

A short drive will take you to the other Finger Lakes and the numerous wineries that surround them. Thirty minutes east is the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, a must for birders, and public golf courses are near by. The Finger Lakes area is well known for its farms, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, skiing, hunting and antiquing. A large outlet mall is a twenty minute drive from our bed and breakfast. Watkins Glen, Hammondsport, Rochester and Syracuse are a forty five minute drive. More about the Finger Lakes area and winery tours. There are several fine restaurants in Geneva plus museums and movie theatres for your entertainment. Or just relax in our parlor, furnished with a piano, books, games, satellite TV, DVD, VCR and tapes. There are chairs and a swing on the porch and in our large shady yard for your comfort.
