Sprout Creek Farm is located in LaGrange in beautiful Dutchess County, New York. Our farm is a 200 acre working farm that provides an integrated context for educational and spiritual development programs for young people and adults. Our herd of grass-fed Jersey, Guernsey, Milking Shorthorn and Brown Swiss cows provide us with rich and creamy milk, from which we produce artisanal cheeses in the age-old tradition of European farmstead cheese.
The purposes of the Farm are many, but foremost to provide a setting of natural beauty and educational experiences for children and adults that will foster appreciation for, and understanding of our place within the natural world, and thus encourage responsibility for the future of our environment and to offer programs that will reconnect children and adults to the rich agricultural heritage of the United States.
Besides opportunities for children to attend overnight summer camp and adults to attend overnight workshops, we are pleased to offer our 3-bedroom/2 bath Cottage, a get away for those needing a different perspective on their busy and stressful urban (and suburban) lives. A percentage of the proceeds from your rental will help fund children who could not otherwise participate in educational programs or summer camp.
One option and a certain antidote for a busy life is to take time to delight in some unstructured time, to sit by the fire or in the garden, take a walk along to creek or in the woods, and enjoy the farm.
