Join the Warren family on Stone and Thistle Farm, an organic livestock farm and goat dairy in the Catskills for the sights, sounds and taste of authentic country life. Sheep, dairy goats, cattle graze the pastures, pigs romp through the forests, poultry peck through the fields.
Farming is a family adventure. We are committed to raising happy, healthy animals and living a fun, wholesome life. Farm family members include border collies and livestock guardian dogs. The Kortright Creek Creamery on the farm produces certified organic raw and pasteurized grass-fed goat milk and yogurt.
Guests enjoy the first-floor suite in the 1863 Greek Revival farmhouse or the Farmhand Cabin. The suite includes a guest bedroom with a double bed, private bath and library with a private entrance. Additional sleeping facilities can be arranged in the library suite to accommodate families. The Farmhand Cabin is located a short distance from the farmhouse overlooking Kortright Creek. The Cabin accommodates up to two adults and two small children. To accommodate more members of the family, a tent is provided. The Cabin is equipped with electricity and includes a refrigerator, hot plate, microwave and outdoor grill and fire pit for cooking. The Cabin has an outdoor solar shower, wash sink and compost toilet.
After enjoying a bountiful farm breakfast, guests may opt to participate, for an additional fee of $30, in "Tours and Chores" a one and a half hour guided tour of the farm and lending a hand with farm chores. Depending on the season, these may include collecting eggs, bottle feeding kid goats, feeding and watering chickens, rabbits and pigs, moving the sheep or dairy goats with the border collies and planting, weeding or harvesting in the kitchen gardens.
Farmer for a Day is half-day program and includes lunch in our on-farm restaurant Fable. The fee is $180 for up to four persons. p>
Fable is open for Saturday evening dining and Sunday farm tour and brunches on select Saturdays and Sundays only from May to November. See the website for open dates.
