Come stay in our lovely, newly-renovated cottage. Look out the window and see our Shetland ponies grazing, along with our Nubian goat herd, who would love for you to come and pet them, and maybe feed them your apple cores.
Meanwhile, down a small hill, there is a pony paddock, a chicken pen, and a stable. Further, another pasture holds two horses. There is also a private garden for the exclusive use of the cottage guests. Guests are encouraged to look for eggs, and take home up to one dozen per weekend (if the hens are laying; in the winter they slow down on their egg-laying).Guests may also pet our friendly goats, and hold baby chicks when we have them.
This rental is very family-friendly, and we have seen that children especially have a fabulous time visiting with our animals and taking part in farm life. It is a really wonderful thing to see a city child helping to round up the chickens, or gently holding the chicks.
We offer every guest a tour of the farm and, weather and schedules permitting, a pony ride on our sweet, adorable pony Bugsy. Additional riding time is available at a small extra fee. (Our 9 year old daughter is a great teacher, and charges the extremely reasonable fee of $15/hour.) There are also trails through the woods, and a creek that can be fished from, and a canoe for lolling about in the creek.
