Summary

Set in a high mountain valley, in the heart of the Catskill Region, Newton Farm Collective is a small market garden organic farm on 50 acres of rolling pasture and woodland. The farm dates back to the 1840’s and retains all of its charm and curiosity, the setting is truly tranquil and peaceful.

We grow a wide variety of vegetables and have a small flock of happy well fed chickens who provide delicious eggs for our table. We have one full time host and farmer who lives on the premises in the back of the house. Part time farmers visit from time to time to help with the harvest.

The front of the house, where you will stay, is totally private and has its own entrances. Our Farmer will be happy to advise you on local flavor and all the sights to see. You are also invited to pick your own seasonal vegetables and meet the chickens under his supervision.

You can be as involved in the farming as much or as little as you like, or you can lounge on the lawn and watch it all happen from a distance. There are many beautiful hikes and swimming areas in close proximity to the farm and we are also close to Woodstock, Hunter mountain and Windham.

We can can accommodate up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. There is a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen that you are invited to use and if you like to cook, the farm can provide fresh eggs and fresh seasonal vegetables for your table.

Breakfast consists of farm fresh eggs, OJ, and coffee. All of which is help-yourself and on your own time, so you can rise as early or late as you wish. Our horse barn was converted into a multi-use music space upon the discovery of its superb acoustics and overall ambiance. Singing and music making are encouraged! (E-mail us for a further description and details).

Newton Farm will take you back to a time when life was a bit more simple and quiet. Relax, unwind, and enjoy a peaceful experience that will refresh your world. We are 2.5 hours drive from New York City. We will consider dogs on a per visit basis, please contact us.
