The Spring months are very beautiful here when the wildflowers burst into life in celebration of another growing season. While the trees are still dormant, the sunlight is able to penetrate to the forest floor and signal the awaiting plants to emerge in their beautiful splendor for a show of nature not seen in many other places in the world. There are many species of plants that only grow in the area of the Western NC, and Eastern Tennessee mountainous border.
The spectacular Fall season begins in mid October and lasts through mid to late November, usually peaking in the last week of October to the first week in November. With the vast altitude variations in the area, 1500 to 5000 feet, some Fall color can be seen from Mid September through late November. So plan your trip here according to your ability to travel.
