Summary
Flint Hill Farm Educational Center, Inc. is a 28-acre working horse-powered farm located in beautiful Lehigh County, PA. Operating on a farm that dates back to the 1850s, Flint Hill Farm AG offers over night accommodations for one or more nights for one to 6 people with the option of working AM or PM shifts along with our staff to allow individuals to experience "being a farmer for a day". We offer age- and grade-appropriate educational experiences for students from pre-K through the University level. Local groups, churches, scouts, homeschooling students find a unique opportunity to connect farm to family though tours, classes or special events. Families are welcome to come and enjoy their special birthday parties on the farm with our party, tour and pony ride packages.
Flint Hill Farm is a production farm dating back to about 1850. The original part of the house and bank barn are beautifully constructed of hand hewn beams. A large wrap around porch offers a great place to enjoy relaxing in a rocking chair with your AM coffee. The working farm offers 6 acres of wooded paths, pastures for our sheep, goats, and cows and assorted gardens planted with herbs, flowers and vegetables. A Certified Raw milk dairy provides goat and cow milk for the Flint Hill Farm Educational Center’s sale of both pasteurize and raw milk and pasteurized added-value products of artisan cheese, fresh butter and yogurt. During certain seasons, the Draft horse teams of the Educational Center provide “horse power” to the everyday work of the farm.
The recognition of Agro-tourism within the broader definition of PA. agriculture has encouraged farms to open their doors to the public. In a effort to bridge the gap between the urban and suburban community and farming community, the state of Pennsylvania has provided a way for farmers to share their culture on a more personal level. A farm breakfast created from the eggs collected that morning, seasonal fruits from the garden and woods, honey from our hives on fresh bread makes a special treat. Participation with the farm’s AM or PM activities gives our visitors hands on experience with “farm life”. Each season is unique and rich with opportunity!
