Hummerhaven Farmstead is 127 acres of woodland, pastures, planted fields, streams and 2 ponds. Just 40 minutes northwest of Harrisburg -- 2 hours from Phila.--3 hours from Baltimore/Washington. Our farm is tucked quietly between two ridges on the end of a dirt/gravel road. Far enough for peace and quiet, yet close to Hershey Park, Knoebel's Grove, and many other daytrip destinations.
Quaint local shops and restaurants offer a delightful change of pace. Guests are invited to help with feeding and care of exotics-- mini donkeys, llamas, Pot belly pigs, Nigerian dwarf goats, Babydoll sheep, Mini Horses, Riding Horses, Collies, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, French Angora bunnies, ducks of all shapes and sizes, chickens that lay colored eggs and of course... farm cats. After 'chores' there's time for hiking, fishing, paddleboating, canoeing, fossil hunting, swimming, bouncing on mesh sided trampoline, ice skating, and on and on... lose the world and find yourself.
The Cottage and the Farmhouse accommodates year round--sleeps 8+ with two full baths and kitchens complete with microwave. Towels and linens are provided as well as crib, high chair, and baby friendly gear -- all for $85.00/night plus 6% state sales tax, payable by cash or check.... NO credit cards thank you. Two night minimum during off peak season and 3 night minimum during summer months (May-August) and over holidays. Our 20 x 40 inground pool is enclosed for year round enjoyment. Other projects ongoing will provide weight and exercise room, hot tub, stable for guests' trailered horses plus a riding ring to use in addition to wooded trails. E-mail us for progress updates.
