Summary
Alpacas of Harkney Hill was started by Gloria and Adam Petroski in 2003 in the beautiful, heavily wooded country-side of Coventry, Rhode Island. Our farm is a 34 acre alpaca farm carved out of an oak forest with numerous glacial rock formations. We're at 514' elevation, one of the highest hills in the state! We are specializing in breeding not only for color, quality of fiber, and so forth, but also to have friendly alpacas.
The Main house is passive solar with a 3 story atrium/solarium. We offer four lovely 4 guest rooms, an open floor plan with high ceilings, and a 40x40' patio with views over the meadow and the surrounding valley. We also have a contemporary 4 bedroom vacation guest house 800' down the drive that is available for long weekends, weekly, or monthly.
We are developing agro-tourism specialty side line in addition to raising our lovable alpacas. We offer hiking, are adjacent to the 8000 acre Big River Reservoir Management Area, are near the Greenway Bike trail, have numerous wildlife, birding, photo locations, are 1/2 mi to golf, and are 2 mi. to the boat launch on Johnson's Pond. We're centraly located in the west bay.
