Cherry Hill Farm is a small farm offering The Dawg House - a vacation cabin perfect for two! The Dawg House is nestled by our pond next to our young hardwood plantation.
You'll see wild Canada Geese, cows grazing on the other side of the pond, wild deer, wild turkeys, and the odd bobcat or two. We manage the hardwood plantation for wildlife habitat, so while we welcome pets we require them to be on a leash when outside please!
You are welcome to bring fishing poles to fish the pond from behind the cabin or from the dam. The Farm is perfect for birding and artists wishing to paint outside. The Dawg House features a sleeping area with queen bed and luxurious organic cotton sheets, a living area with settee and comfy reading chairs, a small full kitchen. Windows on the back look out over the pond and pasture; windows on the front look out over your own private yard and part of the hardwood plantation.
The cabin is equipped with Digital TV and a DVD player if you want to bring or rent movies. I keep a notebook with brochures in The Dawg House that you can browse through to find local attractions. All pets are welcome! I provide food and water bowls, a welcome basket with treats for you and your pet(s), a popper scooper with bags, old towels and a hose in case your pet needs a bath, lots of books, games and cards.
There is plenty of grassy area for walking between the young hardwoods or on the dam (although we do recommend boots). Cherry Hill Farm is within 5 minutes of Cheraw State Park with golf, boat rentals, hiking and biking trails, and fishing, and within 10 minutes of the H. Cooper Black, Jr. Recreation Area with areas for dog trails, horseback trails, and more.
The town of Cheraw is a five minute drive, with over 30 restaurants, antique stores, and lots of activities. In about an hour you can be in Southern Pines/Pinehurst in NC; Camden, SC; or Florence, SC all of which have lots of activities, shopping and restaurants.
