Savage Hart Farm is a sheep farm with guest accommodations in a historic rural district with the spectacular 270 degree views. We are minutes from King Arthur Flour Bakery and Education Center as well as Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
Savage Hart Farm’s owner/operators – Peggy and Todd Allen – shared a vision to turn a beautiful post and beam 4-bedroom home on 32 acres into a working farm with a vacation rental apartment. We moved onto the farm in July of 2012, and today raise and breed Corriedale and Cormo sheep, both know for very soft spongy wool. Most of our flock feature fleece that is brown, grey, deep chocolate to black. We are breeding 16 of our ewes and expect about 25 lambs this spring.
The rental apartment is very private, has a separate entrance, and is above the attached garage. We have designed the apartment space to provide a great amount of flexibility and offers 675 square feet with a full kitchen with microwave, bath with shower and washer/dryer, an extremely comfortable queen-size sofa in the Main Room and a queen-size platform bed (also extremely comfortable) in the Bedroom. Also available is a configuration that adds another 340 square feet with another bedroom (king-size bed), a second spacious bath (with a tub/shower) and a sitting area, increasing capacity to 6. In this set-up, access from the second bedroom and sitting area to the Main Room is through the Bedroom with the queen bed.
