Summary
The Craftsbury Inn is a traditional Vermont country inn. It is located in the picturesque village of Craftsbury, in the heart of Vermont's "Northeast Kingdom". The Inn was built circa 1850 by Amasa Scott, a prominent Craftsbury merchant, for his wife and daughter.
Today the Greek revival mansion is furnished as it might have appeared at the turn of the last century. The common rooms are large and inviting and each guest room is unique. The ambience is casual but not rustic. All of the modern amenities are available including wifi.
The farm is primarily a fiber-farm. We have a “spinning flock” of various wool sheep, cashmere goats, llamas and angora rabbits. We also raise pigs, market lambs, and beef for the table. Breakfast, which is included with your room, features free range eggs from our own hens. Since this is dairy country, we have access to sheep, goat, and cow’s milk to make our own cheese.
French inspired cuisine is served nightly in the dining room, and beer and wine in the wood paneled pub. Plated or boxed lunch is also available. During the summer, enjoy afternoon tea on the lawn. Outdoor activities abound. One can fish, swim, or boat in the nearby rivers and lakes. Hike, road or mountain bike the beautiful Vermont countryside.
In the winter we have nearby dog sledding, snowshoeing, and direct access to 150 km of cross-country ski trails. Four major downhill ski mountains are about 45 minutes away. Be as active as you wish or just relax at The Craftsbury Inn.
