Brightwood Vineyard and Farm is a 100-acre family farm in Madison County, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. 2010 marks our tenth year of business at Brightwood Vineyard and Farm! From our humble start, growing only one acre of pumpkins, we have now added many other enterprises to our mix, including certified organic berries, grapes, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, as well as meat goats, sheep, and laying hens.
Our goal as a diversified small farm is to be sustainable both economically and ecologically. We are committed to providing high quality products to local consumers while being good stewards of the land we gather from.
We offer farm stays in our newly renovated cottage. This hand- crafted retreat is located at the edge of the woods adjacent to our pastures. Perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the confluence of the Robinson River and Spring Branch, you'll hear the gentle sounds of water and the calls of woodland birds from this beautiful vantage point. It's the perfect environment to relax and unwind - a true escape from your hectic everyday world.
During your stay you are welcome to join us as we tend to farm chores and learn about the daily activities at a sustainably managed, diversified crop and livestock farm.You can stroll through our 100 acres of rolling hills, pastures, woodlands, and along our streams, or, if you prefer, just relax and enjoy a quieter pace.
THere are many fine wineries in our area, including Prince Michel, Christiansen Ridge, Horton Cellars Winery , Barboursville Vineyards, Burnley Vineyard, Rose River Vineyards, Sharp Rock Vineyards. We can also provide you with driving directions for many beautiful routes through the Madison County countryside.
