Summary

Welcome to Juniper Moon Farm. We are in the beautiful Charlottesville area. If you’ve never visited this part of Virginia, you are in for a treat! We are surrounded by vineyards and wineries and many wonderful local farms.

We raise registered Angora Goats, registered Cormo, Cotswold and Babydoll Southdown sheep. We are dedicated to producing the finest fleeces, roving and yarn by giving our animals the best possible care. We are deeply committed to raising our goats and sheep on a natural diet of pasture and hay for as much of the year as possible. We’ve also made a conscious decision to have our fleeces processed by a small, family-owned mill, rather than sending them to a big commercial processor. because we like the idea of keeping those dollars in the hands of our community.

We offer a limited number of farm stays every year at Juniper Moon Farm. Whether you are thinking of starting a flock of your own or just want to spend a week knitting and spinning in the pasture, we think you’ll find your stay educational, relaxing and a whole lot of fun!  All meals are served family-style with the Juniper Moon staff. Susie is a culinary school graduate and sources as many ingredients as possible locally, including produce from a CSA just up the road.

While at the farm, you are welcome and encouraged to help us with morning and afternoon chores. Mid-days are free time for you to spend getting to know the flock or exploring the area.
