Welcome to Smithfield Farm, our Winchester, Virginia area bed and breakfast. We invite you to visit our country inn nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the top of the Shenandoah Valley near Berryville, VA. Our family has received guests in the Manor House for 8 generations, reconnecting friends and family with farmland.
At Smith Meadows, we take great pride in our mission to create a healthy farm environment, thereby producing healthy and contented animals. All of our animals are handled humanely from the day they are born. They are never fed animal by-products, given growth hormones or antibiotics.
Drift off together in the hammock or go for a walk in the orchard to gather apples or bird watch along our nature trail. Our unique farm stay accommodations allow you to observe the farm animals in their natural state: cattle grazing contently in the meadow; pigs rooting to their hearts' content; goats and sheep napping in the warm sun; chickens scratching the fertile soil. Savor the majesty of a star-filled night sky and awaken in the morning to a hearty farm breakfast of nature's bounty from the fields surrounding you.
Our lodging accommodations are located just over an hour away from Washington DC with many charming towns you can visit on the way. You can plan an outing to a local winery, an historic site, a seasonal festival, or just a simple hike along the Blue Ridge on the Appalachian Trail. You could also spend the afternoon by the water garden, or having a picnic along the banks of our spring fed stream. The change of scenery and shift to a calm pace are sure to revive your spirit.
