The Jarrell Farm Home Place

Rate: $77.5 - $125
Units: 2     Capacity: 11

Summary

The old Jarrell family home place is a renovated 100 year old farm house. It accommodates up to 8 people and is suitable for farm stays, small events such as family holidays, small retreats, girls getaways, small weddings and reunions, etc, or long term seasonal stays. An additional cabin which sleeps 3 is also available. There is ample parking at the farm.

Being centrally located between Charlottesville, Orange, Culpeper and Harrisonburg makes both units ideal for day trips to regional attractions like Montpelier, Monticello, colleges, Massenutten skiing and water park, and a plethora of wineries. Go birding, fishing, walking on site.

Watch small beef cattle and subsistence farming in action. Budding farmers can work the garden, pick fresh vegetables in season, feed the chickens, collect eggs, and fish in the pond. Workshops are available in food preservation, sewing, minor repairs, and more.

Situated near the Rapidan Wildlife Management area, check station, sporting goods supply, and processor makes it a perfect (more spartan) hunters' hostel during fall and winter. Neighboring Shenandoah National Park offers hiking, horse-back riding, birding, etc.

Available for seasonal rental by groups, churches, clubs, etc. It is great for a simple and relaxing, no fuss, getaway. Bring the kids and learn about modern rural living and more.
